It’s time to go sailing…

We did it, left the marina, and we are on our way…the adventures begin again.  Today was the coldest day in 2020, sunny and clear.  (December 2, 2020) We left our dock, waved to our neighbors and sailed off.

Simplicity is our home, we have lived aboard almost 5 years.  We have traveled and she is a solid boat, and has never failed us.  We love doing what it takes to maintain and improve her.  There is something special about living on a boat, and being in nature, elements daily.  We have the best of it all, and yes we are filled with gratitude that this is our lifestyle.  Some will shake their heads, and have no understanding, I am truly ok with that.  I can’t explain it.

We have been in port for 4 months. We arrived Legacy Harbour Marina in downtown Ft. Myers we had two specific tasks to accomplish. The first was to be in “safe harbor” throughout Hurricane season. The Weather people had a lot of activity to talk about this season.Rain, amounts were crazy this year, as were the number of hurricanes. The second task was to complete and pass our Captain’s course, OUPV – 6 USCG.We both have a whole new perspective on the marine world. All tests, forms, physicals, drug testing, and Homeland Security (TWIC credentials) are complete. The Captain’s School in Cape Coral, is a top-notch organization
