Back sailing awakening our passion

May 6, 2020 We have lived on Simplicity since February 2016. We sailed over 10,000 nautical miles since that time. 2019 was a year of changes and new experiences. I completed my advanced certification training as a Life Coach, with The Mastery Institute, began a practice and have all the elements of a brand new start-up. Having been a successful Entrepreneur for many years, going back to “start-up” phase is exciting, challenging, and flat out hard work.

We began our journey with our sailboat in 2013 and we did that because we had awakened a sleeping giant. We both loved every aspect of sailing. There is nothing like this when it occurs within you. You have a knowing, there is exhilaration, awe, anxiousness doing a lot of new experiences. Then you have the day when the conditions are perfect for sailing. Your heart swells, you look around and you see beauty in ways that were never seen before. After, 9 months working at our jobs, on the boat, a couple of trips due to deaths we have cut out 10 days to sail. We left Port Canaveral Friday, May 1 and today we are in Marathon, Florida we sailed approximately 300 nautical miles. We did an overnight passage from PC to Fort Lauderdale. The best part of sailing this time of year is the days are a bit longer making overnight passages easier. We had good conditions and beautiful stars and moon light to guide us. Truly, no marine traffic, in these times of Covid-19. We only saw a couple of dolphins, a couple of Manta Rays jumping, several large Turtles and flying fish. That first night I knew my passion was stirring, reawakening as I sailed in awe at the beauty around me. Each day has been beautiful, sunny, warm, light breezes enough to keep the air circulating in the cabin. By mid-afternoon the wind and conditions have been prefect for sailing.

There is a joy and contentment in both of us. This is the passion and love for this lifestyle we have been blessed to find in our lives. We have shared this with friends and family. There are some who judge us for this choice. I know in my heart that as a Mom, wife, business owner past and present that I give a 100% . I know when I am older and I may not have the physical abilities that I enjoy today, I will never “regret” the choices I have made in my life. I love my life. I love the passion and joy that I have the opportunity to share. I love having a husband that I spend every day and night together where we live, love and find joy in our adventures.

I challenge you to do that very thing you would love, find your passion and go for it. Don’t be the person who wishes for their life to be different, you have a choice. Do what you love and life will gift you with many blessings.
